My Old Year

2008 had to be one of the strangest years of my life.  Allow me to summarize:  Hired ‘manager’, fired ‘manager’, sister has twins, Santa Barbara house burns down, two dead relatives, the election madness (that one ended well), my first ever ‘tour’, I flew across country to work with some of the greats, and I met a musical icon who promised to make all my dreams come true.

My weeks

Since I met producer Bob Johnston and started working with him, it's like I've entered this world of the 'constant surreal', and it seems to be one crazy thing after another.

Three weeks ago, Bob and I flew to Providence, Rhode Island to shoot a video and meet with a new business partner. For a girl who used to spend most of her time writing songs and playing with her cats – that was mind-blowing enough.

Two weeks ago, I got a phone call telling me "Willie Nelson was making an album for the troops with Bob and there was a track open for me if I'd be interested." If I'd be interested?? "Could I please write a song Jwith that specific message." Could I write a song?? I found the time.

Last week I went to Nashville to record said song at the famed Dark Horse Recording Studio. This place was a dream! Horses running through the meadow, sweet-potato everything with southern accents….world class engineers and musicians working on my song!!!

Next week the song is released. And the week after that??
